About Us.

Camel Rides Ireland was started by a young Irish couple who lived in Central Asia for several years, and saw the great plight of the Kazakh Camel. As global warming gradually made the climate unbearable for the more hairy two-humped varieties of camel, Peter & Erica were concerned and started to try and think of ways to best rescue these suffering animals.

Moving on 5 years to when his sister visited, Peter got asked by a friend in Central Asia whether he would give his sister (who’d been visiting) away as a bride for a few (27) camels. Peter agreed, but only on the condition that the camels would be posted (without harm) to Ireland.

And thus the deal was done, and Peter’s sister Catherine got the man of her dreams, and Peter & Erica rescued 27 camels from the clutches of global warming.
